this looks like it could be a giant poster for some great playwright or cruel dictator.... the contrasts and harsh brushstrokes create a really strong piece that's easy to read. the only distracting area to me is on the right side where there are lots of busy brushstrokes. not necessarily bad, however...
Like I told you this evening, I think that this is my favorite portrait of yours. You use very definitive and strong strokes which hold the piece together. I would love to see you demo this technique sometime.
I am originally from Southern Ohio and I am studying painting at Indiana Wesleyan University. I occasionally do performance painting for my friends band 'The La De Les'. I believe that painting has the ability to show us things we've never see before and even help us live truths we never knew existed.
